We are all quick to list our numerous problems but society finds it difficult to pinpoint the root cause of our malady. Our newly elected president has already been given a unanimous set of goals. The most common problems are corruption, unemployment, power and poverty. I haven’t read a single newspaper editorial on our crumbling education system. A country were universities could strike for over a year. Isn’t the correlation between education and a prosperous society obvious enough? Or maybe we’ve gotten to a stage were the value of education isn’t apparent. Our people are overdependent on the divine, without any role model success stories to relate to. Until the education problem is figured out our population will remain a burden on our resources.
